I've had a wonderful time rowing with Eddie's, especially my first year where we got blades. I will treasure those memories forever, of rowing in 30 degree heat during bumps. The people you meet are the real draw, I don't think other college clubs have such diverse, friendly people rowing. I will keep these friends for life. Rowing has completely transformed my physical health - my fitness and overall strength gain has genuinely improved my quality of life.  Also Bumps is truly an incredible spectacle and Boat Club dinners are fun!

I row because it’s a unique sport happening along the Cam, and I heard that SECBC is the friendliest crew on the river (which is 100% TRUE!!!!!) I've subbed for other colleges, and I can confirm that SECBC has the best vibe on the Cam! Every time we complete an amazing piece, even if it’s just during a morning outing, we scream, “Yeah Eddies!” Love the positive spirit and camaraderie! Grow together as eagles soar! Rowing has truly broadened my experience at university, and I encourage everyone to give it a go.

If there's one college activity you want to do, it's rowing. It is the perfect balance of seriousness and leisure. I row to get fit and have fun.

Eddie's is known as one of the friendliest crews on the cam and I 100% agree with this. I have absolutely loved rowing with Eddie's over the last two years - especially last year when we did soooo many races (and thus soooo many post race pub trips!) We also had excellent coaching which improved my rowing beyond all recognition! Looking forward to what the next four years of rowing with SECBC can bring....here's hoping BLADES!

Learning to row with SECBC has been amazing. I have completely transformed from a novice to a rower, and then to a Rower*. As a bonus, I’ve seen so many more sunrises this year than previous ones. I’ve also met some awesome lovely people who help each other - always. Whether it’s to correct the boat when it’s down on your side or to rally behind a teammate when they’re having a tough time. *Rower = someone who just can’t seem to stop talking about rowing, will send you rowing memes, Rowbridge posts as a substitute for a personality, and wears their SECBC jacket outside of Cambridge.

I row to find a balance between my degree and my personal life, to spend every morning looking at amazing views with my friends (especially in winter), and to exercise everyday in a safe space. Rowing with Eddie's is really fun, not stressful, and very joyful.

During my time in Cambridge, I absolutely had to give rowing a shot. The incredible team spirit, support and coaching made for an unforgettable experience. My first bumps and head of the Cam race are the best memories at Eddie's/Cambridge.
